School magazine analysis

Within this post I am going to analyse two different school magazines including my interpretation of why they have included particular aspects and what it represents/implies.

The front page does not look interesting however appears to be well presented as if it could potentially be a private school. After doing some research i found this was a secondary school that provide bursaries and scholarships as well as what seems a high education. The professionalism also gives the impression that it is a school that is deemed to be sophisticated but quite interactive due to the colour allowing it to further appeal to children to read the magazine. The background further looks more like a piece of artwork that is quite old and authentic as if they want to keep their previous style. It seems to show that it is targeted for students as well as parents or carers due to it being well formatted but still remains to have a laid back feel.

The contents page shows the variety of different activities and events showing they specialise in a variety of areas making it more diverse. The school has also included a welcome section on the contents page to ensure that the magazine and school itself is possibly well introduced with a picture included of the head teacher. This could also imply that to the parents the head teacher is aware and still present in making decisions even towards areas like the school magazine.

This magazine is different to the one above due to it being an international school based for families to be in education. This is not very common however from the front page it looks very welcoming due to the image being of an entire family. It also creates somewhat of a comfortable atmosphere due to it looking quite natural but not too professional making it look appealing for everyone to be involved within.
The contents page further shows the diverse community created by the school as well as presenting many different events and information that gives important knowledge to the families. The image also portrays an enjoyable experience relating to the theme of the magazine of school being enjoyable. Additionally the paragraph at the bottom of the page is similar to a brief introduction to the magazine showing that they truly care.
